Data Description:
Includes the book value of all holdings of certificates of participation in pools of residential mortgages issued or guaranteed by the Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA), the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), or the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC) and not held in trading accounts. Also includes such certificates of participation even though the reporting bank was the original holder of the mortgages underlying the pool and holds the certificates of participation covering that pool, as may be the case with GNMA certificates issued by the bank and swaps with FNMA or FHLMC. Excludes bonds issued by the Federal National Mortgage Association and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation that are collateralized by residential mortgages (included in item 0604), participation certificates issued by the Export-Import Bank and the General Services Administration (included in item 0604), participation certificates issued by a Federal Intermediate Credit Bank (included in item 0411), and notes insured by the Farmers Home Administration (FMHA) and instruments (certificates of beneficial ownership and insured note insurance contracts) representing an interest in FMHA insured notes (included in item 0604). Such notes and instruments are backed by loans made, serviced, and collected by the Farmers Home Administration. All these notes were issued prior to January 1, 1975. This item includes the sum of items 3760 and 3762. COMPARABILITY: Beginning 3/31/90, reported as an derived item in Schedule RC-B, for the FFIEC 031-034 reports.
