Data Description:
Includes the book value of all other U.S. Government Agency and Corporation obligations not held in trading accounts. (On the FFIEC 031 report, this item is reported as single totals for the fully consolidated bank in columns A and B but with a breakdown into three categories for domestic offices in column C.) Includes all bonds, notes, debentures, and loans. Excludes loans to the Export-Import Bank and to federally-sponsored lending agencies (reported in Schedule RC-C, "All other loans").
Includes, among others, debt securities (but not certificates of participation in pools of residential mortgages) of: (1) Banks For Cooperatives; (2) Export-Import Bank (EX-IM BANK); (3) Federal Farm Credit Banks; (4) Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBs); (5) Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC or FREDDIE MAC); (6) Federal Housing Authority (FHA); (7) Federal Intermediate Credit Banks (FICBs); (8) Federal Land Banks (FLBs); (9) Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA or FANNIE MAE); (10) Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA or GINNIE MAE); (11) Maritime Administration; (12) Small Business Administration (SBA); (13) Student Loan Marketing Association (SLMA or SALLIE MAE); (14) Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA); and (15) U.S. Postal Service. Also includes such obligations as participation certificates issued by the Export-Import Bank and the General Services Administration, bonds issued by the Federal National Mortgage Association and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation that are collateralized by residential mortgages, notes insured by the Farmers Home Administration (FMHA) and instruments (certificates of beneficial ownership and insured note insurance contracts) representing an interest in FMHA insured notes. Such notes and instruments are backed by loans made, serviced, and collected by the Farmers Home Administration. All these notes were issued prior to January 1, 1975.

Excludes all holdings of U.S. Government-issued or -guaranteed certificates of participation in pools of residential mortgages (reported in items 3760 and 3762), loans to farmers guaranteed by the Farmers Home Administration or by the Small Business Administration that are extended, serviced, and collected by any party other than FMHA or SBA (included in item 1420 and item 1590 as appropriate), loans to business enterprises guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (included in item 1600), securities of international agencies such as the International Bank For Reconstruction and Development (WORLD Bank), Inter-American Development Bank, and Asian Development Bank (included in item 0413), capital stock of the Federal National Mortgage Association and the Student Loan Marketing Association (included in item 0411), participation certificates issued by a Federal Intermediate Credit Bank (included in item 0411), and the dollar amount of coupons stripped from federal agency securities and principal portions of stripped federal agency securities held as the result of either their purchase or the bank's stripping of such securities (included in item 0411). Also excludes Collateralized Mortgage Obligations (CMOs) and Real Estate Mortgage Investments Conduits (REMICs) issued by U.S. issuers other than the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), even if the collateral for the CMO or REMIC consists of GNMA (Ginnie Mae) pass-throughs, FHLMC (Freddie Mac) participation certificates, or FNMA (Fannie Mae) pass-throughs (reported in item 3633). Includes the sum of items 3764, 3765 and 3766. Also excludes all holdings of U.S. Government-issued or -guaranteed certificates of participation in pools of residential mortgages (reported in item 0602).
