Data Description:

The bank's holdings of assets in trading accounts are unaffected by short sales or by open futures, forward, or standby positions. COMPARABILITY: Beginning 3/31/84, reported as an derived item for the FFIEC 031 and 032 reports which includes the sum of items 1010, 1020, 1025 and 1045. Prior to 3/31/84, shown as a separate item. Prior to 6/30/69, not shown separately but included in individual securities items (0400, 0600, 0900, and 0950). Banks that regularly underwrite or deal in securities and other assets for resale or that acquire securities and other assets with the intent to resell in order to profit from short-term price movements should report in this schedule (Schedule RC-D for the FFIEC 031-032 reports) the value of such assets held in domestic offices on the report date. Assets held in trading accounts are consistently valued at market or at the lower of cost of market.
