Data Description:
Includes loans secured by mortgages or other liens on business and industrial properties, hotels, motels, churches, hospitals, educational and charitable institutions, dormitories, clubs, lodges, association buildings, "homes" for aged persons and orphans, golf courses, recreational facilities, and similar properties. Excludes loans for nonfarm nonresidential property construction and land development purposes maturing in 60 months or less (included in item 1415). COMPARABILITY: Prior to 3/31/76, includes construction and land development loans secured primarily by real estate. Beginning 12/31/72, construction loans secured by real estate are shown as a separate item on the mutual savings banks report form but not for commercial banks. In order to meet this format problem for the period 12/31/72 thru 6/30/73, the FDIC has included the entire amount of construction loans for mutual savings banks (a total of $1.2 billion on 12/31/72) in this item. Beginning 12/31/73, approximately 25% of the amount of these construction loans is included in this item while approximately 50% is included in "Real Estate Loans Secured by Multi-Family Residential Properties, Insured by FHA (1465)" and the remaining amount in "Real Estate Loans Secured by 1-4 Family Residential Properties, Insured by FHA (1440)". Beginning in March 2008, RCON1480 is derived for both the FFIEC 31/41 reports - Sum(RCONF160, RCONF161) BHCK ITEM CAN BE CALCULATED (BHCKF160 + BHCKF161) Beginning in September 2008, RCFD & RCFN items added and RCON (RCFD-RCFN) derived for the FFIEC 002.
