Data Description:
Includes federal funds sold and securities purchased under agreements to resell with U.S. branches and agencies of other foreign banks (including their IBFs) which are doing business in any one of the 50 states of the U.S., the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. territories and possessions. The term "U.S. Branches and Agencies of Foreign Banks" includes: (1) the U.S. branches and agencies of other foreign banks; (2) the U.S. branches and agencies of foreign official banking institutions, including central banks, nationalized banks, and other banking institutions owned by foreign governments; and (3) investment companies that are chartered under Article XII of the New York State Banking Law and that are majority-owned by one or more nonrelated foreign banks.
NOTE:
IBFs are to report federal funds sold and securities purchased under agreements to resell with IBFs of nonrelated U.S. branches and agencies of foreign banks and with nonrelated U.S. branches and agencies of other foreign banks located in Puerto Rico and the U.S. territories and possessions.
