Data Description:
Includes credit arising both from purchases on retail (charge account) credit card plans and from cash advances extended through those retail credit card plans. Also includes all installment loans to individuals arising from bank check credit or other bank revolving credit plans. Includes special installment overdraft credit and revolving credit arising from arrangements with American Express, Diners Club, Carte Blanche, or other similar nonbank plans. Includes the total amount outstanding of all funds advanced under these plans by the reporting bank or consolidated bank holding company, regardless of whether there is a period before interest charges are made. Includes only such credit carried on the books of the reporting bank or bank holding company as loans that is outstanding on the report date, even if the credit plan is shared with other banks or organizations and even if accounting and billing are done by a correspondent bank or the accounting center of a plan administered by others. Credit balances resulting from overpayment of account balances on credit cards and related plans are not netted. If the reporting bank or bank holding company acts only as an agent or correspondent for other banks or nonbank corporations and does not retain an interest in receivables generated by cardholders which it has solicited, an amount is not reported here. A "zero" or the word "none" is reported. Includes overdrafts of NOW or demand accounts. Excludes credit extended under such plans to business enterprises (included in item 1600), all ordinary (unplanned) overdrafts on transaction accounts not associated with check credit or revolving credit operations (included in other items of "Loans and Lease Financing Receivables" as appropriate) and all credit extended to individuals through credit card and related plans secured by real estate (included in item 1410). NOTE: Reported on the FR 2571 (CNCR) report.
