Data Description:
Includes both direct loans and indirect loans (purchased paper) arising from the sale to individuals of new or used private mobile homes, whether or not the mobile home is used as collateral. Mobile homes are defined as complete dwelling units built on a chassis and capable at the time of initial purchase of being towed over the highway by truck but not by car. Excludes loans to purchase travel trailers, campers, and similar recreation vehicles. Excludes "floor plan" loans or other wholesale financing of loans to purchase mobile homes for business or professional purposes which are reported in "Commercial and Industrial Loans." Excludes loans to farmers and loans secured by real estate. Reported net of hypothecated deposits. COMPARABILITY: Prior to 3/31/79, only the CNCR series was reported net of hypothecated deposits. Prior to 6/30/71, not shown separately but included in "Loans to Purchase Other Retail Goods on Installment Basis - Other Retail Consumer Goods (2040)".
