Includes all transaction accounts of commercial banks located in the U.S. Commercial banks in the U.S. includes: (1) U.S. branches and agencies of foreign banks; and (2) all other commercial banks in the U.S., i.e., U.S. branches of U.S. banks. For purposes of these reports, U.S. branches and agencies of foreign banks includes U.S. branches and agencies of foreign official banking institutions and investment companies that are chartered under Article XII of the New York State Banking Law and that are majority-owned by one or more foreign banks. Reciprocal demand balances with the banking institutions listed above should be reported net in this item.
