Data Description:
The total amount of money borrowed by the consolidated bank holding company or reporting bank with an remaining maturity of 1 year or less. For purposes of this item, remaining maturity is the amount of time remaining from the report date until the final contractual maturity of a borrowing without regard to the borrowing's repayment schedule, if any. Includes the amount outstanding of all interest-bearing demand notes issued to the U.S. Treasury by consolidated subsidiaries.
Also includes the total amount of borrowings on: promissory notes; re-discounted notes and bills; loans sold under repurchase agreements and sales of loan participations; by the creation of due bills; from Federal Reserve Banks; by over drawing "due from" balances with depository institutions (as described in item 2850); on federal funds purchased and securities sold under repurchase agreements by foreign offices of their Edge and Agreement subsidiaries; on purchase of "term federal funds"; by selling assets that are not owned by the reporting organization; and on any other obligation with a remaining maturity of one year or less not reported elsewhere.
Excludes: federal funds purchased and securities sold under agreements to repurchase and sales of participations in pools of securities; liabilities resulting from the sales of assets that the reporting bank holding company or its consolidated subsidiaries does not own (reported in Schedule HC, item 3548 for the FR Y-9C report and in Schedule RC, for the FFIEC 031-034 reports); and subordinated notes and debentures.
