Data Description:
Includes savings deposits of trust funds standing to credit of other banks and all savings deposits or trust funds held or deposited in any department of the reporting bank. Includes deposited funds with respect to which the depositor is not required by the deposit contract, but may at any time be required by the bank, to give written notice of an intended withdrawal not less than 30 days before such withdrawal is made and which is not payable on a specified date or at expiration of a specified time after date of deposit. COMPARABILITY: Prior to 12/31/76, includes "NOW Accounts (2398)" only in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Includes funds deposited to credit of one or more individuals or of a corporation, association, or other organization operated primarily for religious, philanthropic, charitable, educational, fraternal, or other similar purposes and not operated for profit, or in which the entire beneficial interest is held by one or more individuals or by such a corporation, association, or other organizations. This includes funds deposited by school districts. Includes deposits, such as christmas club accounts and vacation club accounts, which are made under written contracts providing that no withdrawal shall be made until a certain number of periodic deposits have been made during a period of not less than 3 months, even though some of the deposits are made within 30 days from the end of the period. Also includes "NOW Accounts (2398)" for the New England states and the state of New York.
