Data Description:
Includes all nontransaction accounts (including MMDA's) standing to the credit of banks in the United States, Puerto Rico, and in U.S. dependencies and insular possessions (including trust territories). "Banks" includes national banks, state commercial banks, trust companies performing a commercial banking business, industrial banks, stock savings banks, private banks (including regulated certificated banks) performing a commercial banking business, Edge Act and Agreement Corporations performing a commercial banking business, and branches and agencies of foreign banks that are located in the United States, Puerto Rico, or U.S. dependencies and possessions. Excludes nontransaction accounts of international banking institutions, mutual savings banks, building or savings and loan and similar associations, the Export-Import Bank, and federal lending agencies (such as Federal Land Banks, Federal Intermediate Credit Banks, and Federal Home Loan Banks) and IBFs and banks in foreign countries. NOTE: Reported as a separate item in Schedule RC-E, Part I for the FFIEC 031, 032, and 033 reports. Reported as a separate item for the FR 2886B report. For the "IBF" series, includes "IBF time deposits" due to other IBFs. "Other IBFs" includes all IBFs not operated by the establishing entity. For a detailed definition of "Other IBFs" see item 0061. COMPARABILITY: Prior to 3/31/96, reported as a derived item for the FFIEC 031, 032, and 033 reports. Beginning 3/31/84, reported as an derived item for the FFIEC 031, 032 and 033 reports which includes the sum of items 2347 and 2348.
