Data Description:
Total demand and time deposits of central banks, foreign development banks, treasuries, exchange control offices, stabilization funds, and such international institutions as International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Inter-American Development Bank. Includes all deposits of any foreign government and its subdivisions, agencies, or instrumentalities, and deposits of its representatives in the U.S. Includes all deposits of nationalized banking and other banking institutions owned by central governments which have as an important part of their function, activities similar to those of a treasury, central bank, exchange control office, or stabilization fund.
Does not include deposits of foreign commercial banks, savings banks, discount houses, and other similar foreign institutions accepting short term deposits.
NOTE:
For the FFIEC 002 report, (RCFN) excludes all transactions with related depository institutions.
COMPARABILITY:
Beginning 3/31/01, reported as a derived item for the FFIEC 041 report which includes the sum of items 2216 and 2377.
Prior to 3/31/94, reported as a derived item for the FR 2886B report (RCFN), which included the sum of items 2216 and 2377. Also as a derived item as RCFD2650 which included the sum of RCFN2650 + RCON2216 + RCON2377.
Beginning 3/31/84, reported as a derived item for the FFIEC 031, 032 and 033 reports which includes the sum of items 2216 and 2377. Also reported as a derived item for the FR 2886B report (RCON).
