Data Description:
Includes the principal amounts of limited-life preferred stock that are contractually due within the specified time period from the report date of less than 1 year. Limited-life preferred stock is preferred stock that has a maturity date or that can be redeemed at the option of the holder. For limited-life preferred stock that can be redeemed at the option of the holder, includes the amount that can be redeemed in the column corresponding to the earliest possible redemption period.
Excludes: (1) those issues of preferred stock that have no maturity date and that cannot be redeemed at the option of the holder, i.e., perpetual preferred stock, and (2) those issues of preferred stock that automatically convert into common stock at a stated date.
