Perpetual preferred stock is preferred stock that does not have a stated maturity date or that cannot be redeemed at the option of the holder. Includes those issues of preferred stock that automatically convert into common stock at a stated date. For the FR Y-11Q (BHCS) report, a special-purpose subsidiary should report in this item trust preferred securities such as MIPS and TOPRS. COMPARABILITY: Beginning 12/31/02, reported on Schedule BS-M for the FR Y-11 (BHCS) report.
