Data Description:
Includes the amount outstanding and unused as of the report date of all letters of indemnity and guarantee issued by any office of the reporting bank. Also includes all shipside or dockside guarantees or similar guarantees relating to missing bills of lading or title documents and other document guarantees that facilitate the replacement of lost or destroyed documents and negotiable instruments. Excludes signature or endorsement guarantees of the type associated with the regular clearing of negotiable instruments or securities in the normal course of business, letters of indemnity issued in connection with the replacement of lost or stolen official checks, and all guarantees issued by foreign offices of the reporting bank pursuant to Federal Reserve Regulation K or Section 347.3(c)(1) of the FDIC Rules and Regulations reported in "Standby Letters of Credit, Total (3375)" on the balance sheet of the report of condition.
