Data Description:
Includes the aggregate par value of the financial instruments that the reporting entity has, for a fee, obligated itself to sell under option contracts that are outstanding as of the report date. In the case of option contracts obligating the reporting entity to sell a futures contract, includes the par value of the financial instrument underlying the futures contract. Contracts to purchase against this item are not to be netted.
Excludes contracts under which the reporting entity has purchased an option to sell financial instruments where the other party to the contract is obligated to sell the instrument if the bank exercises its option. Also excludes option contracts involving foreign exchange, which are included in item "3415".
