Data Description:
Includes the outstanding amount of nonreciprocal holdings of capital instruments (i.e., instruments that qualifies as Tier 1 or Tier 2 capital under the risk-based capital guidelines) issued by other banking organizations (i.e., banks and bank holding companies).
Excludes nonreciprocal holdings of capital instruments issued by other banking organizations but taken in satisfaction of debts previously contracted in good faith.
NOTE:
For the FFIEC 031, 032, 033 and 034 reports, this item is reported on the December report only.
For the FR Y-9C report, reported only by the top-tier bank holding companies with consolidated assets of $150 million or more.
