Data Description:
Includes by remaining maturity the outstanding amount of other limited-life capital instruments, such as long-term preferred stock with an original maturity of 20 years or more, that must be discounted as they approach maturity as outlined in the risk-based capital guidelines.
For limited-life capital instruments with serial maturities or with sinking fund provisions, the amount associated with each maturity date is treated as a separate issue and discounted on an individual basis. If the holder of the reporting bank's subordinated debt or intermediate-term or long-term preferred stock has the right to require the bank to redeem, repay, or repurchase the instrument prior to the original stated maturity, then maturity is defined as the earliest possible date on which the holder can put the instrument back to the issuing bank.
NOTE:
Reported as a derived item on Schedule RC-R for the FFIEC 031, 032, 033, and 034 reports. Includes the sum of items 3786, 3787, 3788, 3789, 3790 and 3791.
For series RCFD and RCON, reported as confidential for March, June, and September of the 1990 reporting period.
