Data Description:
Includes the amount of treasury stock that is in the form of common stock. The sum of this item and item 5483 equals the amount reported in Schedule HC, item "Treasury Stock (3153)".
Also includes as appropriate, the amount of the offsetting debit to the liability recorded by the reporting bank holding company in connection with its ESOP's debt. The offsetting debit should be allocated based on what type of stock the ESOP purchased with the proceeds of the borrowings.
For example, if the holding company's ESOP uses the proceeds of its borrowings to purchase the common stock of the holding company or its consolidated subsidiaries, the amount of the offsetting debit to the liability recorded for that debt is included in this item.
