Data Description:
Includes the outstanding principal balance of 1-to-4 family residential mortgage loans serviced for others under servicing contracts entered into with FHLMC in which the mortgages being serviced has been sold to (or swapped with) FHLMC without recourse and the mortgage notes has been endorsed accordingly. If a seller elects to sell (or swap) mortgages without recourse, FHLMC assumes the risk of loss from borrower defaults to the extent of FHLMC's percentage of participation in the mortgages.
