Data Description:
Includes the balance of all nonpersonal savings and time deposits regardless of denomination or maturity, that are included in "Total Savings Deposits (2389)" and "Total Time Deposits (2514)". (Those nonpersonal time deposits with balances of $100,000 or more also are included in item 2604.) Excludes personal savings and time deposits. Nonpersonal Savings Deposits are: 1. Savings deposits that represents funds deposited to the credit of, or in which any beneficial interest is held by, a depositor that is not a natural person. 2. Savings deposits that are transferable, whether or not the entire beneficial interest is held by natural persons. Nonpersonal Time Deposits are: 1. Funds deposited to the credit of, or in which any beneficial interest is held by, a depositor that is not a natural person, other than a deposit to the credit of a trustee or other fiduciary if the entire beneficial interest in the deposit is held by a natural person. 2. A time deposit issued on or after October 1, 1980, to and held by a natural person that does not contain on the face of a document evidencing the account a statement that the deposit is not transferable. 3. a time deposit that is transferable, except a time deposit issued before October 1, 1980, to and held by a natural person. Excludes a time deposit issued to and held by a natural person on or after October 1, 1980, if it includes on the face of a document, evidencing the account, a statement that the deposit is not transferable or that it is transferable only on the books of, or with the permission of, the reporting institution. NOTE: Daily reporting for this item ended on 20030915 for EDDS, and 20030623 for QEDS. After those dates the item is reported only one day each year, in June (June 30th for EDDS, and the Monday reporting day in June for QEDS). Nonpersonal savings and time deposits are a component of total reservable liabilities, and are used in the annual indexation of the reservable liability exemption amount.
