Data Description:
A code indicating which top holder rule is used to derive the ID_RSSD_TOP.
"BHC"
Relationship between an ID_RSSD_TOP and an ID_RSSD is in the BHC rule if (1) the top holder is the highest NON-FBO BHC in the structure and (2) all the relationships between the top holder and the offspring entity are regulated as defined in the RELATIONSHIPS table and (3) all Relationships above the offspring are controlled. If the last link in the chain of relationships is regulated but not controlled, any relationships below that offspring are ignored.
"REG"
Relationship between an ID_RSSD_TOP and an ID_RSSD is in the REG rule if all relationships between the top holder and the offspring entity are regulated as defined in the RELATIONSHIPS table and all relationships above the offspring are controlled. If the last link in the chain of relationships is regulated but not controlled, any relationships below that offspring are ignored. This rule includes non-head office affiliates (branches, agencies, representative offices, and managed branches) of an FBO as offspring of the top holder.
"S&L"
Relationship between an ID_RSSD_TOP and an ID_RSSD is in the S&L rule of a Savings Bank or a Savings and Loan Association for which all relationships between the top holder and the offspring are controlled, and there must not be a controlled relationship above the top holder.
Offspring is any entity in RSSD that has:
CHTR_TYPE_CD = 300 (Savings Bank)
CHTR_TYPE_CD = 310 (Savings and Loan Association)
CHTR_TYPE_CD = 320 (Cooperative Bank) or
CHTR_TYPE_CD = 340 (Industrial Bank)
