Data Description:

A five-digit identifier assigned by the Board of Governors to head offices of offspring (other than banks, nonbank banks, savings banks, nondeposit trust companies, Article XII New York Investments Companies, and Edge and Agreement Corps.) of Bank Holding Companies, of Foreign Banking Organizations and other FR Y-7 reporters.

Nonbank Company IDs will continue to be assigned by the Board to all such entities until all Board files have been converted to NIC Structure. This conversion is expected to take 2 to 3 years. Until the conversion is complete, Reserve Banks will enter the ID_NONBANK_CO for all appropriate entities.
