A one-digit code indicating the level of regulation of a head office entity that is an FHLBB [Thrift] Holding Company, i.e., a holding company of at least one savings and loan association (S&L) or federal savings bank (FSB).

0 = Not applicable (for entities other than head offices and for head office entities other than Thrift Holding Companies)

1 = Unitary diversified (minimally regulated entity that owns one S&L or one FSB)

2 = Unitary nondiversified - subject to debt control (regulated entity that owns one S&L or one FSB)

3 = Multiple nondiversified - subject to activity limitations and debt control (regulated entity that owns more than one S&L and/or FSB).
