Data Description:

This is the Peer Definition that groups financial institutions based their type and state. The result is a concatenation of the two character state abbreviation and the BKTYP value for the financial institution. Possible values resulting from this definition would include, but are not limited to, "ALCOM", "ALSVG", "ALCRC", "ALBKR", "AKCOM", "AKSVG", etc. A financial institution will be a member of at most one STBKTYP peer group per period.

-Insured Commercial Institutions (including DeNovo) or,
-FDIC Supervised Savings Institutions or,
-Credit Card Institutions
-Bankers Bank
by State

Examples:
MECOM = Maine Insured Commercial Institutions
TXCOM = Texas Insured Commercial Institutions
COSVG = Colorado FDIC Supervised Savings Institutions
VACRC = Virginia Credit Card Institutions
WYBKR = Wyoming Bankers Banks

This variable is used by the FDIC and OCC in the process to generate the UBPR in the Central Data Repository (CDR). The Board does NOT store this MDRM within the UBPR series tables in the Board's Financial Data Repository (FDR).
