Glossary File:
The items listed above are recorded on the summary of deposits archival file. However, this archival does not conform to the MDRM naming conventions and many variables have been recorded under the MDRM of a different concept. Questions regarding the meaning of variables should be directed to the non-statistical services contact. For example, for current periods, the ID_RSSD of the head office is recorded under number 2254. The items with the RSSD mnemonic are recorded under a different number and/or with the mnemonic BANK or SUMD.

          Summary Of Deposits Comparability

The SOD Archival format has six deposit size class fields for each type of deposit. Since 1970 there have been fewer than six size breakdowns, so certain fields are zero filled. The table below indicates which deposit classes are in which fields, for each year. These fields apply to both the number of accounts and the amount of deposits, in 1966 to 1972, 1975, 1980, and 1981. The number of account items for each type of deposit were not reported in '73, '74, '76, '77, '78, '79, and '82, and are thus zero filled for these years.

In 1975, the fourth and fifth types of deposit of previous years ("Deposits Of States And Political Subdivisions" and "All Other Deposits") were broken down to create three types of deposit ("Public Funds, Demand", "Public Funds, Time And Savings", and "All Other Deposits"). The sum of the old fourth and fifth catergories, from 1966 to 1974, is comparable with the sum of the three new types in 1975 through the current year.
